The prizes for the quizzes organized by the Bilingual Programme were given to the winners at a very special ceremony taking place in Casa de la Cultura.

Los premios a los concursos organizados por el Programa Bilingüe del IES Cantillana fueron entregados en una ceremonia muy especial en la Casa de la Cultura.
Arriba aparecen las imágenes de los ganadores de los distintos concursos (III SPELLING BEE, VI LISTENING OLYMPICS QUIZ 3º ESO) recibiendo sus premios de manos de la Coordinadora Bilingüe.
En el primer día de la Semana Cultural (del 23 al 26 de abril), el Programa Bilingüe ha organizado el IV LISTENING OLYMPICS QUIZ para el alumnado de 3º y 4º de ESO. Esta divertida prueba se está consolidando en la Semana Cultural de nuestro centro. De la misma manera, en el tercer día de esta Semana Cultural, ha tenido lugar el III SPELLING BEE, un concurso de deletreo en inglés para alumnado de 1º y 2º de la ESO. Hemos pasado muy buen rato con momentos de emoción en las rondas eliminatorias a la vez que de diversión. ¡Muchas gracias al alumnado participante y enhorabuena a los ganadores!
On the first day of the Cultural Week, the Bilingual Programme organised the IV LISTENING OLYMPICS QUIZ for the 3rd and 4th ESO students. This fun quiz is being consolidated in the Cultural Week of our school. Similarly, on the third day of this Cultural Week, the III SPELLING BEE took place, a spelling competition in English for students in 1st and 2nd ESO. We had a great time with moments of excitement in the elimination rounds as well as fun. Many thanks to the students who took part and congratulations to the winners!
El pasado 31 de mayo nos despedimos de nuestra auxiliar de conversación, Catherine Stagliano. A continuación os dejamos una carta de despedida en la que nos cuenta su experiencia.

Como actividad complementaria en el segundo trimestre, la asignatura de Tecnología y Digitalización ha realizado una exposición de mecanismos con carteles informativos en español e inglés. Los mecanismos han sido construidos por los alumnos de 3º ESO.
A continuación os dejamos una muestra de esta exposición que tuvo lugar en el hall del edificio principal de nuestro centro.
As a complementary activity in the second term, the Technology and Digitalization subject has made an exhibition of mechanisms with informative posters in Spanish and English. The mechanisms have been built by the students of 3rd ESO.

En el IES Cantillana hemos tratado de conciencia en nuestros alumnos y alumnas de la relevancia de los objetivos de desarrollo sostenible y de la importancia de la implicación y colaboración individual y colectiva necesarias para que estos objetivos se puedan conseguir. Además de en el alumnado, también se ha tratado de trasladar a toda la comunidad educativa a través de la exposición que ha dado visibilidad a las investigaciones y trabajos realizados por los alumnos y alumnas en las distintas ANLs participantes en esta Unidad Didáctica Integrada.
Exposición SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS: Una muestra de los trabajos producidos por alumnos y alumnas de todos los cursos y grupos de ESO en el desarrollo de la Unidad Integrada Bilingüe por las ANLs. La exposición se ha podido visitar en el pasillo de dirección.
Las actividades realizadas por cada una de las ANLs han permitido la adquisición de las competencias del currículo de cada una de las asignaturas desarrollando los saberes básicos asociados recogidos en la LOMLOE. Las actividades realizadas se presentan a continuación:
Educación Física 1ºESO
En relación con el ODS nº3 “Salud y bienestar”, el alumnado realizará un visual thinking o una infografía sobre una serie de hábitos saludables. Estos hábitos saludables serán: higiene postural, alimentación, descanso y ejercicio físico.
Geografía e Historia 2º y 4ºESO
Matemáticas 2ºESO
Biología y Geología 3ºESO
Se ha dedicado una sesión con la auxiliar de conversación a introducir los ODS: qué son, qué persiguen, cuándo y cómo se aprobaron.
Cada grupo ha investigado sobre un ODS, los seleccionados han sido los cuatro que se indican a continuación:
ODS 3: Salud y bienestar.
ODS 6: Agua limpia y saneamiento.
ODS 13: Acción por el clima.
ODS 15: Vida de ecosistemas terrestres.
Tecnología y Digitalización 3ºESO
Los alumnos trabajarán en grupos para diseñar una campaña de concienciación ZERO PLASTICS en diferentes ámbitos (colegios, redes, IES, …).

International Women’s Day (8th March) is a global day commemorating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. It is an opportunity to create positive change for women and girls.
The students of the 1st Year of Compulsory Secondary Education in our high school, IES Cantillana, have dome some infographics and posters of influential and admirable women with a prominent role in relation to the work for a change of the situation of women in society at their time.

El Día Internacional de la Mujer (8 de marzo) es una jornada mundial que conmemora los logros sociales, económicos, culturales y políticos de las mujeres. Es una oportunidad para crear un cambio positivo para las mujeres y las niñas.
Los alumnos de 1º de Bachillerato de nuestro instituto, IES Cantillana, han elaborado unas infografías y carteles de mujeres influyentes y admirables con un papel destacado en relación al trabajo por un cambio de la situación de la mujer en la sociedad de su época.
To celebrate Peace Day, the students of the First Year of Post-compulsory Secondary Education performed the song «Over the Raimbow». Overall, this song conveys a message of hope and longing for a better world where dreams can come true. Thanks to all students that participated in this activity. We hope you like it!
Para celebrar el día de La Paz, el alumnado de primero de Bachillerato interpretó la canción «Over the Raimbow». En general, esta canción transmite un mensaje de esperanza y anhelo por un mundo mejor donde los sueños pueden hacerse realidad. Muchas gracias a todos los alumnos y alumnas que participaron en esta actividad. ¡Esperamos que os guste!
The students of the Third Year of Compulsory Secondary Education designed and created beautiful and moving Christmas Cards in the subject of Technology and Digitalization to wish our community merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Here you are some of them.
El alumnado de tercero de ESO diseñó y creó bonitas y emotivas tarjetas navideñas en la asignatura de Tecnología y Digitalización para desear a toda la comunidad educativa feliz Navidad y próspero Año Nuevo. Aquí os dejamos algunas de ellas.
My name is Joseph Aragon and I am from New Mexico in the United States of America. I had the pleasure of working at IES Cantillana for the past two years. Since day one everyone was super friendly and very helpful with whatever I needed. The students always came enthusiastic to class and eager to learn whether it be sharing part of my culture with them, them sharing part of their culture with me, or lesson plans that were created in collaboration with the teacher. You never knew what random questions or random stories the students were going to share with you which made going to school enjoyable every single day. Through my time in the NALCAP program I got the opportunity to ex[perience many new cultures, try many new foods, see many beautiful things, and most importantly create a home away from home. Moving this far from home was a huge decision to make. but one I would not change for the world . I am extremely grateful for this opportunity and all the growth that came along with it. I will forever cherish my time spent in Cantillana, Sevilla and all of the amazing people I met along the way.
Our language assistants, Joseph Aragon and Helen Mackay have finished their collaboration in IES Cantillana. They have worked hard with teachers and students along this year.
During this course, our assistants have carried out different activies with the students, celebrating events typical of their countries of origin and culture. They prepared a lot of funny activities for students
